PLATFORM FOR THE TRANSFERRING OF TECHNICAL TRAINING TO MINING – ELEVA

ELEVA is a public-private collaboration initiative, which seeks to contribute and promote mining in the future, raising the skills and opportunities of students, promoting relevant and quality professional technical training at all levels.

The Eleva program seeks to connect the world of training with the needs of qualified human capital that the mining industry has, through three pillars:

  • Directly advising training institutions. (Professional Technical Schools, Technical Training Centers and Technical Training Organizations), to deliver tools that allow them to align the curriculum according to the Mining Qualifications Framework.
  • Qualifying teachers and management teams, so that they can generate a training offer consistent with the mining industry.
  • Generating regional collaboration networks, to face common challenges in professional technical training.

The public-private initiative is designed and implemented by Fundación Chile, and has as partners the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, Ministry of Mining, Corfo, Mining Council, Mining Skills Council and SENCE . Its long-term vision was defined in the 2015–2035 Mining Technology Roadmap of the Alta Ley National Mining Program, which identified opportunities, R&D requirements and challenges to generate technological capabilities in the country and a base sector of technological suppliers.
